Constituent Services
Listening, Responding, Following Through
Miles Wilson believes in the power of community voices and knows that effective representation starts with truly listening. As a lifelong resident of Ward 5, he understands the passion, pride, and resilience that define our neighborhoods. Miles is committed to ensuring every resident, community organization, business, and leader feels heard, respected, and valued.
He will:
• Prioritize timely and transparent communication with constituents.
• Create accessible platforms for sharing concerns, ideas, and visions for our ward.
• Provide follow-through on community feedback, ensuring concerns are addressed and solutions are implemented.
Constituent services are not just a responsibility to Miles—it’s the foundation of his campaign and future service.
Equitable Growth Solutions
Centering Access, Opportunity, and Mobility in Ward 5
For Ward 5 to grow equitably, public transportation must be more than a line running through our neighborhoods—it must be a network of access that truly serves our people.
Miles Wilson understands that transportation is a critical link to opportunity. Whether it’s getting to work, attending school, accessing childcare, or supporting a small business, residents need reliable, affordable, and local transportation options that are built around their actual needs—not just regional convenience.
Too often, transit developments bypass the daily realities of North Minneapolis. While the METRO Blue Line Extension offers long-term potential, it must be matched with investments in local bus routes, transit hubs, safe walkways, and first-mile/last-mile connections within our neighborhoods.
Miles believes:
Mobility equals opportunity—residents must be able to move freely and affordably within their own community.
Transit must serve the people—from seniors and youth to workers and caregivers.
Infrastructure must support local economies—providing access to homegrown businesses and job centers right here in Ward 5.
As your City Council Member, Miles will:
Advocate for expanded and more frequent bus service, particularly in underserved areas of the Northside.
Push for infrastructure improvements like safer sidewalks and better lighting.
Ensure community voices lead transit planning, so that solutions reflect real needs—not just projections.
Connect transportation planning with economic development and homeownership goals, ensuring our community can grow and thrive where we already live.
Public transportation should be a foundation for equity—not a barrier to it. Miles is ready to fight for a system that works for all of Ward 5.
Public Safety
Transforming and Strengthening Our Communities
Safety is the foundation for thriving neighborhoods and economic growth. Miles Wilson has prioritized public safety by fostering meaningful conversations and partnerships across our diverse communities and with the Minneapolis Police Department (MPD).
Key actions include:
• Hosting Community Conversations to identify actionable safety solutions tailored to each neighborhood’s unique challenges.
• Supporting MPD transformation by advocating for accountability, transparency, and proper mental health resources for officers.
• Encouraging the development of mentorship and recruitment programs to diversify and strengthen the police force.
Miles understands that when safety improves, businesses—both small and large—are more likely to invest in our community, bringing jobs and resources that empower residents. By ensuring public safety, Ward 5 can become a beacon of opportunity for all.
“I am ready to serve Ward 5 with passion, integrity, and a commitment to progress. Together, we can amplify our voices, address our challenges, and build a future that works for everyone.”
